The fight marked Aspinall’s return to the Octagon after his terrible injuries. There was speculation that the fastest finisher in UFC might be a different fighter on his return, but this was not the case. As the headliner to this UFC Fight Night – Aspinall but on a phenomenal show as he defeated his opponent, Tybura, in just over a minute. The TKO, from a combination of elbows and punches, showed the resilience that Aspinall had which would take him to the top. The knock-out was good enough to earn Aspinall a performance of the night bonus. This fight would be enough to silence the critics. When Jon Jones pulled out of his title fight, it made perfect sense for Aspinall to have a shot at the interim-title, and when he won the belt, it wasn’t a surprise. This was an important fight and Aspinall showed his worth.
